Most providers of a family day sell a terrain plus a program: farmer's golf, a bouncy castle, a quiz. That works, but someone has to come up with it and the day stands or falls with the weather and the enthusiasm.
You don't have to think of anything on the Maas. On the way you pass the Erasmus Bridge, the Markthal, the ss Rotterdam and the Euromast, and in the harbor there are sea ships with an apartment building. For the oldest generation, that's the city where they grew up, for the youngest it's just big. That's rare at a family day: one thing everyone looks at for the same reason.

If you compare locations for a family day in Rotterdam, you will come across halls, farms and activity parks. A boat is a different kind of location: it's just there for you, it moves, and the staff sails along.
Everything is included. The skipper, the catering staff, unlimited beer, wine, soft drinks, coffee and tea. You get one invoice including VAT and there is no additional calculation on the consumptions, which saves on a family day because you never know in advance how much is drunk. You can arrange food: snacks, a walking buffet, a walking dinner or a bbq on board. You cannot bring your own catering. If you organize something where only colleagues are present and no families, look at it business trip in Rotterdam.

How much does a family day in Rotterdam on the water cost?
What you pay is determined by two things: how long you sail and on which ship. Cruise, crew, service and drinks are always included in the amount, including VAT.
- 1.5 hours: from € 36,95 per person
- 2 hours: from € 49,95 per person
- 2.5 hours: from € 54,95 per person
- 4 hours: from € 49,95 per person
The fact that the long voyage of four hours per person is cheaper than that of two and a half hours is due to the ship: the larger ships charge a lower rate per person because there are more people on board. For a family day of fifty or more, the long route is often the better deal. Catering and entertainment are independent of this and are budgeted for each component. Please let us know the date and number of guests and we will charge no obligation for you.

Stepping on the Boompjeskade
The fixed departure point is Tree damage 750, right next to the Erasmus Bridge and easily accessible by metro, tram and car. For guests coming from outside the city, this is the easiest point to meet.
Two other Quays are possible in consultation: Parkhaven 9 at the Euromast, and Linker Rottekade 4A for the sloop cruises over the Rotte. The ferry port, the Rijnhaven and the Maashaven are also negotiable. If the family prefers to sail on calmer water, take a look at the Family Day in Utrecht.

What do you do during a family day on the boat?
Sailing, eating and watching. The route past the port and the Erasmus Bridge yields enough to point to along the way, and the skipper tells you about the ships and the buildings you pass. In addition, you can have food taken care of on board and play your own music via the speaker.
How many guests can go?
From ten to seven hundred. A luxury sloop takes 10 to 60 people, a drink boat 25 to 100, a passenger ship 50 to 250 and an event ship 250 to 700. Under ten people a private boat is not possible.
How much does a family day in Rotterdam cost?
The rates start at € 36.95 per person including VAT for an hour and a half. A two-hour cruise starts at € 49.95 and a long four-hour trip also at € 49.95. Skipper, service and unlimited beer, wine and soft drinks are always in it.
Is the cruise suitable for young children?
Yes, as long as there's an adult watching them. Children's life jackets are available on request. The drinks boat and the large ships have a toilet and a deck where children can walk; on a sloop everyone sits closer together.
Can you sail to the Maasvlakte?
Okay. That route takes at least four hours and goes by passenger ship or event ship. On the way, you will pass the container terminals where the largest sea ships in the world are located. For families with children who love ships, this is the most impressive trip.
Do employers also book this for staff with families?
That is a large part of the bookings in Rotterdam. The passenger ship and the event ship together take up to seven hundred guests across the Meuse and through the port. The settlement runs through one invoice including VAT; the consumptions are not counted.
Does the cruise continue in the rain?
Okay. The barge and the larger ships are covered and heated, and the sloop has a hood that closes. Only in the event of a storm or extreme weather will another date be discussed.
