A special angle for a birthday in Haarlem is of course the birthday of Haarlem itself. On november 23, 1245, count William II of Holland granted town rights to the community, after which the people here officially call the place a city. These count William II City rights have been of great importance for the development of the region. In 2025, the city celebrated 780 years of city Rights, an anniversary that the whole of North Holland remembered.
The original charters, the parchment birth certificate from 1245, are today safe in the Noord Hollands Archief in the Janskerk. Every year on november 23, mayor Jos Wienen cuts a birthday cake to celebrate this special moment with the residents of the city. With this cake tradition, Jos Wienen puts the birthday of Haarlem on the map every year. The city law of Haarlem is one of the most beautifully preserved city laws in the Netherlands and tells how the city once began as a settlement on the Spaarne.

The fixed boarding location is at the Nieuwe Gracht 80 in Haarlem. Deviating from this is possible during the week in consultation with the sales department. Boarding and alighting take place in the same or different places, depending on the route. Parking is possible in the area.
